A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Young Comics from Finland 19 – 22 June 2014 Opening Hours: Thu, noon–7pm; Fri/Sat, 10am–7pm; Sun, 10am–6pm Kunstverein – Neue Galerie
Adventurous, bustling, and very well organized – that’s how one could characterize the Finnish comic scene. In the past years, books by young Finnish artists have been published worldwide. In Germany, the stylistically unique narratives have received only little attention so far, which might change soon since Finland functioned as host country at the Frankfurt Book Fair this year. In preparation, some young Finnish artists will show a selection of their works, among them Tiitu Takalo, Mika Lietzén, and Reeta Nimensivu – the latter two are also featured in the only recently published “Comic Atlas Finnland” (in German).
An exhibition in cooperation with FILI – Finnish Literature Exchange. Web: www.finnishcomics.info
